What Is a FEMA Flood Zone?
FEMA assigns every property in the United States a flood zone designation based on its risk of flooding. High-risk zones (A, AE, VE) have a 1% or greater annual chance of flooding and typically require flood insurance for federally backed mortgages. Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Floods?
